Slab Work comes in many different forms, some may think this was thrown on a wheel, however using hump and slump molds potters can make all kinds of creations using Slab Construction

That's right ! Just like Demi Moore in Ghost thrown pottery get's its start on the pottery wheel. Bowls, mugs, plates and more start off this way

This technique involves shaping the clay by hand without the use of a potter's wheel. The clay can be rolled, pinched, or coiled to create individual treasures.

Pinch pots are extremely basic, but can still be very impressive. This technique has been used for thousands of years and there are some excellent examples of pinch pots from various ancient civilizations.
